Four wine barrels suspended in the air and stamped with golden letters that spell the name of the winery: this is how Bava catches the eye of wine tourists on the road to Cocconato and encourages them to turn in.
The winery immediately displays its historical identity: it has been active since 1911, but the Bava family had already been growing vines in the Asti area of Monferrato since the late 17th century. Today’s 50 hectares are treated with the same care as in the past, but with a new environmental sensitivity to low-impact farming.
A visit to the winery is full of opportunities: it can be customised to include a tour of the vineyards, a tasting experience paired with local foods or a tasting menu of traditional dishes. In the wine shop you’ll find the rarer bottles and magnums, as well as an array of foodie products and a corner devoted to food-related books.
