Michele Chiarlo
The Chiarlo family’s winemaking history began in 1956, but it was in the 70s that the founder Michele began to select some of the best plots in the Langhe, Monferrato and Gavi, guided by a his dream of elevating the quality of Barbera - the wine of his peasant origins - and of Piedmontese wines in general. His wonderful crus include the La Cour estate in Castelnuovo Calcea, site of the Art Park: 20 hectares of vineyards, three farmhouses and two hills where art, landscape and wine engage in an endless dialogue, offering visitors one of the most fascinating land art experiences in the wine world.
The winery organizes four types of tours, depending on the wines chosen for tasting. It is also possible to simply take a guided tour of the winery and finish with a tasting session. More adventurous tourists can book an e-bike tour, an excellent way to experience and learn about the very best of Monferrato’s food and wine.
