Massimo Rivetti

The 25 hectares belonging to the Rivetti family are managed using organic methods: pesticides and herbicides were eliminated in 2009. Between the rows of vines - all more than 40 years old and some as old as 75 - more than 20 different varieties of green manure plants grow; the war on insects is carried out by inducing sexual confusion using natural pheromones; cutworms - caterpillars which feed on the leaves and shoots - are removed by hand; the harvest is entirely manual.

The Rivettis have been growing grapes and producing wine for five generations, and the heart of the estate is Cascina Froi on the Serraboella hill. Visitors are welcomed by the family and accompanied to the vineyards and the winery. The journey ends nearby, in the delightful little town of Neive, where the tasting is held.

The wine shop occupies an early 19th-century building: here visitors can buy the wines, enjoy a guided tasting session with pairings of local products, or opt for a simple aperitif.
