Villa Giada
Villa Giada dominates the Ceirole hill in the heart of the Canelli wine country. Located at the meeting place of Monferrato and the Langhe, on the right bank of the Tanaro, the estate owns 25 hectares of vineyards in areas traditionally planted with Moscato Bianco (the hills around Canelli) and Barbera (the Agliano Terme area, in the centre of the Nizza appellation). The winery’s historical core - today reserved for ageing in the cask - was built in 1790; a new wing was added in 1940.
A short distance away, the traditional Cascina Dani offers the chance to prolong your stay: it has five rooms and a restaurant open to the public, serving traditional local food accompanied by wines from the estate. From the tasting room or the lounge with a wood-burning stove, from the wood-roofed loggia or the guesthouse bedrooms, the views are of the hills – which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site – with forests and vineyards as far as the eye can see.
