Angelo Negro e Figli
A document dated 1670 and found in the archives of Monteu Roero town hall marks the beginning of this winery. Giovanni Dominico Negro bought a plot of land which is now the Perdaudin vineyard, planted with Arneis vines. His descendants, proud of their roots, extended the property, which now covers almost 60 hectares of vineyards in the Roero and the Langhe.
The current owner, Giovanni Negro, is one of the great producers of Arneis. In 1971, after years of neglecting of the grape, he decided to make a single variety wine, drawing the world’s attention to its potential. In 2016, the winery took a step towards sustainability by becoming part of The Green Experience, which certifies respect for biodiversity and the valorisation of the hilly landscape, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Every visit to the winery is an immersion in the history and traditions of the Roero, a land that will surely conquer your heart, thanks to its self-effacing and unspoilt charm.
