The Marziano Abbona winery stands in the centre of a natural amphitheatre of hills overlooked by the majestic chain of the Alps. The foundations are those of an ancient farmhouse, complete with the original brick-vaulted cellars, while the present-day building - constructed in 2004 - blends perfectly with the surrounding countryside in a dialogue between past and present.
The Abbona family history is marked by hard work and challenges; today Marziano and his daughters continue to experiment with passion and an eye to tradition, in order to create marvellously expressive wines.
Above the basement level, where the winemaking processes and ageing take place, there’s a modern tasting room, with a wooden floor made from old barriques. The room is lit by large windows facing the hills of Dogliani: on a clear day the snowy Alpine peaks seem almost within touching distance.
