ALBINO ROCCA
Four generations have played their part since Giacomo Rocca started the family business in the 1940s: he passed the vines and their secrets on to his son Albino, his grandson Angelo and then his great-grandchildren. With each new generation, the areas planted with vineyards grew, as did the family’s technical expertise and environmental awareness, which today materialises as reduced treatments to the vines and the elimination of herbicides.
The 80s saw the start of separate vinifications of the estate’s crus for the production of Barbaresco, which is aged in large oak casks in the traditional manner: according to the Roccas, nature should not be dominated by human action, but rather exalted in its most noble expressions.
During a tour of the winery, visitors can sample the estate’s wines, and vertical tastings of Barbaresco can be organised on request.
